Integrations

An admissions office, an employer's HR system or another credential platform can check Certichain credentials without using the web application. This section covers the ways to do that.

All of them rest on the same fact: a credential's state lives on the chain, and each method either reads the chain itself or receives an answer signed by a key the caller pinned.

Choosing a method

MethodNeedsTrust rests onPage
REST APIHTTPSThe API signer address you pinnedREST API
JavaScript SDKNode.js 20 or a browserThe same, checked for youSDK
Standard VC verifierA VC library such as Digital Bazaar's, the Certichain plugin, the status list publisher addressThe issuer's signature, the status list publisher you pinned, and the chainVerifiable credentials, Interop and SDK tests
Command-line verifierNode.js, optionally an RPC endpointThe issuer's signature and the chainCommand-line tools
Direct chain readsAn RPC endpoint and the contract ABIsThe chain onlyContracts, Deployment manifest

The API and SDK are the simplest: one HTTPS call and a signature check. Reading the chain directly removes trust in the deployment's server entirely, at the cost of running more code.

Availability as of 2026-10-24

The REST API and status lists are built but switched off on the Sepolia deployment until the owner sets their signer keys. The SDK is not published to npm. The command-line verifier and direct chain reads work now. Everything runs on the Sepolia test network only.
